The Potters’ Guilt Masterclass series is back! We are proud to bring in Aya Murata, renowned for her intricate and dynamic Nerikomi works for a series of talks and masterclasses. The complex technique of Nerikomi involves stacking and cutting colored pieces of clay to form different patterns before their multiple layers of colours are revealed eventually on its surface planes. Aya will be sharing her extensive experience and practice in Nerikomi from clay preparation to working with the layered coloured clay in the crafting of her pieces.
Priority registration for current students and alumni.
Experience the whole process of nerikomi from scratch- from the preparation of coloured clay with Japanese pigment to refining your plan and design for a final small dish through using a hump mould with tessellation as an approach!
